2025! Welcome!

 

We are rapidly approaching the year 2100, with only three quarters remaining. Time indeed moves swiftly. My last update here was in 2020 during the challenging period of the Covid pandemic. I'm grateful we've moved forward from that time.

One positive outcome from those difficult days was the rise of Zoom. It facilitated connections with Certified Zentangle Teachers (CZTs) worldwide, expanding my network to include individuals from Japan, Russia, Ireland, Wales, Germany, Croatia, and across the United States. These virtual interactions fostered such strong familiarity that in-person meetings became truly exciting reunions. We shared personal experiences, and many close friendships have developed as a result.

Currently, I've just completed recording and editing a class for the International CZT:AE 2025 Group Event. I am honored to be teaching for the fourth year, alongside 23 other CZTs from the global Zentangle community. I'm enthusiastic about this year's program and look forward to the classes, techniques, and potential introduction of new tools.

Participation in this event requires CZT certification. If you are interested in registering, please follow the link or scan the QR code below. Registration details are available on the final page. Participants have the option to purchase a supply kit, which I highly recommend. Scholarships are available for those facing financial constraints. All classes are recorded and accessible for one year, providing ample opportunity for repeated viewing.

A Colourful Challenge

I am an early riser. What can I say? Might as well get up and tangle for a while. And that's what I did since I already watched Downton Abbey last night. Good season opener. I didn't want to show the mess I created in the bathroom this morning I submit this tangle as my daily challenge to create something. Daily challenge for Monday I am still having trouble writing 2015 as you can tell by my signature. I need to go back and correct that to TY 15. I also did the challenge from I am the Diva . I had to use the tangle Hitch from HeidiSue. I also used another tangle from HeidiSue called Concert. Hitch within Hitch with Concert in the supporting section! I'm off to work on my tangle*a*day calendar . I am still working on Sundays picture so they might have to run together! Isn't that exciting! And I get to mail my little glitter swaps this morning. Baby, it's cold outside!

Many of my friends are covered in snow and ice and tons of cold winter weather right now. I have lived all over the United States of America and I can honestly say been there, done that. I live in South Texas and we experience cold weather once in a while. Our winter's are mild and I've seen it snow here one time in 2004. That was wonderful! Snow fell over our city on Christmas Eve and everybody woke to a 6-10" snowfall. It was really nice because it was all gone by Christmas night. No dirty snow, no sludge, just beautiful! So far this winter we are having cold days more often. It has been in the lower to mid 40's, cloudy and windy. Sprinkle in a few days of weather in the 50's and sunshine just to get our hopes up for the 70 degree weather. But I like it! Today's high is 47, cloudy with 20mph winds out of the northeast. 60% chance of rain. I love it! So in honor of the cold winds blowing around me I played with a tutorial from A Little Lime . Oh my nose!

I've been sick. I've been tangling to take my mind off being sick. Here are a few things I've been working on. I made a bookmark from the wrapper on a set of tiles. I traced some Bijou tiles and tangled a different design on each one. I've had a sinus infection and now I have dysosmia, everything smells the same and it's not a smell I enjoy. Hopefully it will go away soon. I'm getting ready to teach a Zendala class this weekend at the Art Center. Still have a few openings if you would like to join us.
